Pool Day #1

Here are a few pictures from my first pool session last Saturday. I couldn't take many pictures as I was either in the pool or bogged down by 50 pounds of gear. Haha!

My rental gear is all packed and ready to go..

Bookwork from 10am-12pm at the dive shop. Meet Lady Lucy, the shop dog.

Pool time from 1-6pm.

Once the pool opened, it was full of all sorts of scuba diver groups. The temperature gauge was broken this Saturday.. The water was easily 85 degrees!

Boy is it heavy!

STEP ONE: Completed.

I picked up my scuba rental gear for the next two Saturdays. Lets just say it's very heavy, very hot and hard to put on compared to what I wore in Mexico! Once I'm floating in the water, I'm sure I'll be fine. 10-12pm class and 1-6pm pool dives tomorrow!

Becoming Certified...

This is what I'll be doing two Saturdays in a row - starting next Saturday!! I can't wait to start, it's going to be so much fun!

I'll try and take pictures along the way.. I will soon be able to dive with a partner (anyone up for grabs?) down to 120 feet. But no way will I go that deep. The 60's are fine with me :) To be updated soon. XO!

Mom, is your metal detector waterproof? I knew Shane got that for a reason! Hahaha.

Seattle Weekend

I know it was two weekends ago but just wanted to say how much I enjoyed seeing you all!

I got to see my little pup.. Not so little this time but Mom has him on a strict diet regimen :)

I got to see an artist at work..

And I got to see the best Mom in the world! She got a feast.

Yard Sale!

First, sorry I haven't posted in a while.. I guess I have been paying so much attention to Facebook (I recently got Shane, Kerry, and Brittany to join)! Mom and Chad, you are next!

We had a yard sale last weekend at our house. It was very hot.. We put the sprinkler under the trampoline and filled a large storage bin with water for cooling off. We met all of our neighbors and they brought us over tacos and cocktails (basically salsa, salsa juice, and shrimp). It was a nice weekend!

Cobey and I at 8am on Saturday morning. We tried to look bummed out but we really weren't.

UNICEF "Tap with a Beat" Benefit Show

Hi! The show went great.. Miki, the artist I danced for, put this entire fundraiser on in a matter of weeks and 500+ people came to watch.

UNICEF's goal is to reduce the number of people without safe water. For every dollar raised, a child will have clean drinking water for 40 days. It's a national movement called the 'Tap Project' and many people / restaurants are participating all over the world. Pretty cool, huh?

This was the fruit and candy table. Mmm!

Hi! Here are some pictures from our rehearsal last night. Our show is on Saturday. Miki is the one with the mic and then there are two guys and two girls dancing for her. Should be fun.. I hear there are a bunch of raffles (even one for a diamond) and I am going to bring a few dollars :)

Penny the new house Puppy

This week has been pet week. First my fish at work.
Second is Penny, my roommates new puppy.
She is only 2 months old, weighs 3 lbs, and they say she is a Chihuahua..
We all think she is a mix (of beagle maybe?) because of her floppy ears, nose, and coloring.
She is named Penny because she came from the Garment District downtown.
She is hyper as you could imagine..
I like being the aunt of the puppy rather than the mom :)

His name is CAP (= carpoolers assistance program) and he flops around in his bowl all day.

I can't believe I now have a fish at work :)
